Important News for Kumulos Customers: Service Enhancements, Service Retirements, and Changes to Subscriptions

We have some important news to share that impacts brands with mobile apps currently live on the Kumulos platform. 

We shared the fantastic news recently about the acquisition of Kumulos by Optimove. Over the months that followed, we have undertaken a detailed strategic review of the services we offer and as a result, there are some significant changes to the direction of Kumulos that we are now excited to share.

Changes to Features Available

Kumulos was built as a multiservice platform providing App Hosting, Developer Tools, and Marketing technology for mobile apps and websites. In recent years we have found the greatest demand for Mobile/Web Messaging, Analytics, and Deferred Deep Links, and less demand for developer and App Store Optimization tools, mainly because of the many free solutions available. Going forward it is important that we concentrate our resources to ensure that we continue to deliver best-in-class solutions, and given the dominance of free tools in Hosting, Crash Reporting, API End Point Monitoring, and App Store Optimization, we will sun-setting these services.

We will continue to run ASO and Diagnostics until 31st December 2022 and Backend until July 1st 2023. Following these dates, we’ll direct all of our efforts on working with the Optimove team to ensure our solutions continue to be industry-leading. 

Updates to our Subscriptions

Delivering the outstanding service that our customers have come to expect from us requires ongoing investment. We are pleased to say that as a result of the acquisition of Kumulos by Optimove, Kumulos customers can now access a rich suite of features that many of you have been asking for. This includes state-of-the-art A/B Testing, AI-backed Campaign Orchestration, and Reporting, Advanced Segmentation & Personalization, CRM, Journey Builder as well as additional channels including social and email, with SMS to follow later on this year.

As a result of all these additional features now being available to you and to ensure we continue to provide outstanding service, we are increasing our minimum subscription to the equivalent of $1,000 a month, paid annually by invoice. 

We understand that some of our customers may not require all these new additional features at this time and may decide to find an alternative solution. To make this transition as easy as possible we will keep pricing as it is until the end of 2022.
